Internships generally comprise of a single role that encompasses working on a specialised project. You will become very skilled in your role and gain insight into how our organisation operates.

Commitment:

Department name:
Events and Community Fundraising Team is part of Oxfam’s New Income Team, which seeks to engage and enable a mass number of people to give their time and talents to raise funds for Oxfam accumulating in income streams of £10m+.
Trailwalker and Trailtrekker are our flagship products within the portfolio of Events.
Participants in Trailwalker raise over £1m for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust. Trailtrekker is looking to raise £400k in it’s first year this May.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the production of Printed materials and online communications including emails – by working with the Interactive media team.
- Creating and writing content for a content managed website and for Social Networking Channels like MySpace and Facebook.
- Researching and making use of free promotional channels such as local “what’s on” websites and other internet spaces.
- Researching and attending regional meetings with the Oxfam shop network.
- Gathering content including quotes and photographs and case studies, over the phone and at events for Press Releases, website and brochure content.
- Evaluation of own projects/areas of work and contributing to development of team marketing strategies.
Skills and competences:
- Excellent Project Management Skills
- Including the ability to manage own time and prioritise effectively
- Sound creative judgement
- Clear communication (face-to-face and written) and excellent interpersonal skills
- Committed to Oxfam’s mission and communicating about Oxfam to others
- Passion for / experience in outdoor events is a plus!

Internet Sales Coordinator
Oxfam Books and Music shop, East Sheen, London
Commitment:
Ideally a minimum 16 hours a week for 6 months, but this is open to negotiation. Reasonable local travel and lunch expenses where appropriate will be paid.
Department name:
We are a specialist Oxfam book and music shop. Within the retail arm of Oxfam. The shop is in East Sheen, within walking distance of Mortlake overground station and on the 33 bus route.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigating alternative ways of selling both books and music online.
- Researching the value of books and musical items on the Internet.
- Inputting data and managing trades on Amazon, ABE and Ebay.
- Dealing with customer queries via email.
- Packing and posting Items sold over the Internet.
- Streamlining the process of storage and book price research.
Skills and competences:
- Ebay knowledge essential
- Good communication skills
- Good basic IT skills, particularly Word
- Drive and commitment
- Excellent organisational skills
- Fluent written English

Diversity project designer for volunteering
Flexible – Oxfam House, Oxford or Home-based, although some travel to Oxfam House will be required.
Commitment:
Flexible – 1 – 2 days per week for 3 – 4 months.
Department name:
The Volunteering Team is based in the Trading Division’s HR Team, where we act as a hub of support to any internal and external enquiries about volunteering for Oxfam GB. We strive to be innovative, dynamic and diverse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analysing the data available about the diversity of Oxfam GB’s 25,000 volunteers and communicating this to all levels of the organisation.
- Researching the most effective methods of improving the diversity of Oxfam’s volunteers – looking at how to inform specific groups about volunteering with Oxfam in general, as well as specific opportunities.
- Working within the parameters of Oxfam’s Positive Action policy in order to make recommendations to those working with volunteers in Oxfam on how to improve the diversity of volunteers.

- Working with a range of different departments within Oxfam to try to develop recognition tools for different volunteering opportunities.
- Seeing the project through to production and implementation of the new tools, providing guidelines for managers of volunteers in using these.

Internal Communications Assistant

Commitment:

Internal Communications Team (ICT), part of Corporate Communications Department (CCD). ICT leads and facilitates corporate communications to all staff worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the delivery of communications projects, with responsibility for specific elements such as managing the online Daily Message (an internal message board)
- Development of communications Intranet pages
- Supporting the management and running of events
- Research for and analysis of communications products/trends
- General support to the team
